Liledahl Farms, Inc. is a three-generation family farm, based in Essex, Iowa. Charles and Eileen Lijedahl began the operation in 1957. Dennis returned to the farm in 1975, followed by his son Drew in 2006. The farm produces corn, soybeans, seed soybeans, and hogs on both rented and family-owned land.

Located in Page County, Liljedahl Farms is a third-generation family operation with a legacy dating back to 1957. Today, we balance the lessons passed down through the decades with a forward-thinking approach to modern agriculture. As a family-run farm, we prioritize a long-term mindset – not just for our business, but for the next generation.

Our Approach to Farming

We specialize in corn, soybeans, and hogs, managing every stage of production with a hands-on philosophy. By overseeing nearly all of our own operations, we maintain total control over the timing and quality of our work.

Precision & Efficiency

Our farm utilizes advanced technology and modern equipment to ensure every acre reaches its potential. We rely on data-driven decision-making, including:

• Precision Technology: Using RTK guidance and variable-rate applications to maximize efficiency.
• On-Farm Infrastructure: Extensive grain storage and drying capabilities to manage our harvest and marketing effectively.
• Local Research: We host long-standing test plots and nitrogen trials to prove new practices locally before implementing them farm-wide.

Stewardship & Sustainability

We believe that being good farmers means being good stewards of the land. Our commitment to soil health and conservation includes:

• Conservation Practices: Extensive use of no-till, terraces, and cover crops.
• Future-Ready: Actively lowering our carbon intensity score to participate in emerging carbon certification programs.

Community & Partnerships

For us, farming is about more than just the crop; it’s about the community. We are deeply involved in local boards, church leadership, and school support. We pride ourselves on disciplined risk management and straightforward communication, valuing the long-term relationships we build with our landowners and partners.
